# Account Deletion

If you wish to delete your Ditto account, you can do so directly from the Ditto app. Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.

## How to Delete Your Account

1. Open the **Ditto** app at [assistant.heyditto.ai](https://assistant.heyditto.ai)
2. Sign in to your account
3. Open **Settings**
4. Navigate to the **Danger Zone** tab
5. Click the **DELETE ACCOUNT** button
6. A confirmation dialog will appear. Review the warning and click **Delete** to confirm

Once confirmed, your account deletion is scheduled and processed automatically. You will be signed out immediately.

## What Data Is Deleted

When you delete your account, the following data is **permanently removed**:

- **Authentication credentials** — your Firebase login (email/password, Google, or GitHub OAuth) is deleted
- **Conversations & messages** — all chat threads and message history
- **Memory network** — all stored memories and associations
- **Uploaded files & images** — all content stored in cloud storage (Backblaze)
- **User profile** — display name, email, avatar, and account settings
- **Connected apps & integrations** — MCP server connections and linked services

## What Data Is Retained

For legal, financial, and anti-abuse purposes, the following records are retained after account deletion:

- **Purchase & subscription records** — transaction history and receipts for billing compliance
- **Anti-abuse identity records** — minimal identifiers used to prevent fraud and platform abuse

These retained records do not contain your conversations, memories, or personal content.

## Important Notes

- Account deletion is **irreversible**. Once confirmed, your data cannot be recovered
- Deletion is processed asynchronously and typically completes within a few minutes
- You will be signed out automatically after requesting deletion
- If you have an active subscription, it will be canceled as part of the deletion process
